Getting to Rhosoclyn
Approximate travel times between
Rhoscolyn and major travel routes are:
- Manchester or Liverpool: 2 hours drive or 3 hours by train;
- London: 5 hours drive or 4 hours by train (direct);
- Dublin or Dun Laoghaire: 1.5 hours (fast craft) or 3.5 hours (traditional ferry) crossing to Holyhead;
- Cardiff: short flight to Valley Airport.
The
port of Holyhead is only 4 miles away from Rhoscolyn, and is one of the main
road/rail/ferry routes between mainland Britain
and Ireland. Stena Line and Irish Ferries both run daily fast craft crossings to Dun Laoghaire and Dublin, with a crossing
time of approximately 90 minutes. Irish Ferries also
runs the largest car ferry in the world (the very
comfortable Ulysses),
which takes approx. 3.5 hours. Trains operated by Virgin
Trains run direct from London Euston to Holyhead.
Manx2 operates flights between Valley Airport (at RAF Valley) and Cardiff.
